Next Level Optimizing Keywords
Today I will reveal: How to take Keyword Optimization to the next level?
Usual research starts with searches for:
- Keywords on Demand- How many people are searching for the same keyword
- Keywords that exposes your Brand-How to implement most searchable keyword in your brand schematic
This is straightforward process but we need more strategic approach to bring a keyword research to the next level.
To determine which one of already collected keywords are worthy for your business we need to prioritize with analyzing:
- Consumers interaction with your website-What they search once inside your website
- Search Engine Referrals-Which Search Engine is sending the most visitors
- Paid Search Engine Referrals
By combining similar results you will get the most topics your visitors are looking for.
For example :
Yesterday your website had 100 visitors. Out of those 100 people:
- 20 visitors are spending quality time reading about “lotion for oily skin”
- 20 visitor are coming from Yahoo looking for “lotion for oily skin”
- 35 visitors come from your PPC advertising also looking for “lotion for oily skin”
- Other 25 people was looking something else
Summarizing the results your will find your main topic as “lotion for oily skin”.
Combining a few variations of keywords that are similar to “lotion for oily skin” less competitive but still searched by visitors, will get you at least a few keyword phrases that you can use as a main keyword for particular page.
You can then apply this to your site architecture planning. Create a resource center on your site for the main topics ( Usually the Landing Page), optimize that landing page for the general themes, and then provide articles and other content that is for the more specific keywords.
In previous example:
You validate that majority readers visited your page selling “lotion for oily skin”. That should be one of your main keywords on landing page and the very main keyword on page designed to promote lotion for oily skin.
Locating the Niche keyword or Topical Keyword can influence you investment in advertising.
Brand term demand data validates whether recent product launches and or active campaigns are creating a “Best Topic”.
Fine-tuning keywords is always a long term process: measuring, researching, combining, buzzing.
